About me

I am a semi professional cyclist racing for the Irish Continental Team AnPost Chain Reaction, I am now competing for my 3rd season in Belgium, and my 2nd with AnPost.

I didn't fall straight into road racing in my younger days, I started with both mountain biking and trials biking, I'm still a lover of the off road scene and I like to do as much mountain biking and now cyclocross as I can during the winter to aid my training. After several wins in mountain biking I then moved to the velodrome, starting out with a friends birthday party it all began as fun and games, although looking at the velodrome for the first time I was a little nervous, from the velodrome however I naturally started road racing, I progressed through the British scene and the British programme with some nice wins, some unforgettable moments and a bit of sight seeing along the way. Now I still do all those things minus the track racing, but now it's much more competitive and a little more serious than when we were juniors racing around Britain, but I love the nature of the sport and the moments that come with it.

So my time spent in Belgium, how does an 18 year old kid move away from home to pursue a dream with out much money to his name, pay to live, food etc, afford equipment to race? Well for the passed 3 years I've being very grateful to be supported by both the Dave Rayner Fund http://www.daveraynerfund.co.uk/ and Pedal Potential http://www.pedalpotential.co.uk as well as the generosity from both funds, the additional support from family and friends to try and achieve my dream would not be possible without these people, or to even be at the point now where I don't have to worry about finding several thousands of pounds to pay for a bike. Merci
